Find the asset
I find the value you already own.
An audience. A reputation. A program. A room. A dataset. I look at your organisation through a corporate partner's eyes and identify what they would struggle to build or buy elsewhere.

Hi, I'm Dan. I build partnerships.
I find what your organisation already has, bring it to the partner who values it most, and build a partnership that keeps growing.
What I believe
A sponsorship is a logo and a cheque you have to win back every year. A partnership is two organisations that each hold what the other needs, and something neither could have built alone. The work is finding what you already own, seeing who values it most, and designing a partnership that earns its keep on both sides.

Let's figure out what it is.
“Dan built our partnership function from $50K to $3.6M in revenue. But the number isn't the story. The money funded financial aid, and at one point over 50% of our students were on aid because of partnerships he closed. He changed who TKS was for.”
“Dan was absolutely key to Startup Edmonton's early success. As we launched a new organisation for entrepreneurs in the city, he was flexible, creative, and a relentless finisher. In particular, Dan fully subscribed our Founders 50 sponsorship program, bringing together 50 of Edmonton's most influential business and institutional leaders to support our mission. That success was instrumental in helping Startup Edmonton get off the ground.”
“I had the pleasure of working closely with Dan through the TKS and Walmart partnership. Collaborative, enthusiastic, and always accessible, he embodies what a great partnerships professional should be. Having worked on both the property and brand sides of partnerships, I've seen firsthand how Dan's approach and skill set distinguish him. His collaboration-first mindset makes him a tremendous partner, and any organisation would benefit from working with him.”
Who I work with
Most organisations do not need a partnerships department. They need senior partnership leadership long enough to prove the model, build the first few partnerships, and leave behind a system their team can run.

Schools, programs, universities
Tuition-funded, with access to young talent, families and future decision-makers that companies cannot easily build themselves. I turn that access into partnerships that fund bursaries, programs and new opportunities for students.

Members, events, reach
Dues-funded, with trusted access to concentrated professional communities. I turn member reach, convening power and industry insight into partnerships that grow non-dues revenue.

Charities, social ventures
Grant-dependent, with trusted communities, credible impact and stories companies want to be part of. I turn those assets into partnerships that create sustainable revenue without compromising the mission.
How it works
Find the asset
An audience. A reputation. A program. A room. A dataset. I look at your organisation through a corporate partner's eyes and identify what they would struggle to build or buy elsewhere.

Build the fit
I shape the proposition, identify the right companies, lead the meetings, negotiate the terms and stay in the room through launch. Not advice from the sidelines: I help get the partnership built.

Compound it
I leave behind the pipeline, playbook and internal capability to keep building, so the next partnership is easier to win, easier to renew, and does not require another outside hire.

DJ Advisory helps organisations build corporate partnerships from the inside out. I identify the audiences, programs, expertise, relationships or access you already have that companies may value, then turn those assets into partnership opportunities worth investing in. From strategy and positioning through outreach, negotiation and launch, I help build the function, not just the pitch deck.
Organisations that have valuable assets but are not yet generating the corporate revenue they could from them. That often includes independent schools and youth programs, associations and chambers, and mission-led organisations that rely heavily on tuition, dues, grants or philanthropy. The common thread is simple: there is already something valuable there. It just has not yet been translated into a compelling corporate proposition.
You may not, and that is exactly what the free partnership scan is designed to uncover. Companies invest when there is a clear fit with something they already care about: talent, customers, community, insight, credibility, innovation or impact. Often, the strongest opportunity is hiding inside something your organisation already does exceptionally well but has never thought of as a corporate asset.
Request a free scanAn outside-in assessment of your organisation through the eyes of a potential corporate partner. I look at what you already have, where the strongest partnership opportunities may be hiding, and which companies could naturally value them. The goal is simple: determine whether there is enough real partnership potential to justify going deeper.
Request a free scanIf the scan identifies a strong opportunity, the next step may be a deeper partnership audit. The scan looks from the outside. The audit goes inside your organisation, examining strategy, programs, budgets, relationships, internal capacity and priorities to determine what is genuinely worth taking to market. From there, we can decide whether it makes sense for DJ Advisory to embed with your team and help build the partnership function.
Traditional sponsorship often starts with inventory: logos, tickets, naming rights and predefined benefits. Partnership starts somewhere else: with what each side has that the other genuinely needs. When the fit is right, the result can be more valuable, more strategic and much harder to replace than a standard sponsorship package. The best partnerships do not simply renew. They deepen, expand and compound over time.
They may be able to, and I am not there to replace them. Corporate partnerships require a different lens. Traditional fundraising often starts with your mission and asks a company to support it. Partnership strategy starts with the company and asks what it is trying to accomplish. I work alongside your existing team to bring that commercial perspective, shape the opportunity, open the right conversations, and build a capability they can ultimately own.
No. A warm introduction can open a door, but it cannot rescue an offer nobody wants. The real work is identifying what companies will value, shaping the proposition, finding the right decision-makers, and moving the opportunity from an interesting conversation to a partnership both sides want to grow. My network can accelerate that process. It is not the product.
I have built partnership functions and strategies for organisations including The Knowledge Society, Startup Edmonton and Universities Canada, and developed partnerships with companies including Amazon, Walmart, TELUS and RBC. At TKS, partnerships grew to $3.6M in revenue and more than 35% of company revenue. At Startup Edmonton, the partnership model generated more than $1M in revenue and value within its first year.
